The only chronic member of the pioneering synthesiser group Tangerine Dream, Edgar Froese likewise proved to be one of the near ambitious in releasing solo albums alongside the voluminous output signal of the dance band. Considered a victor of the Mellotron, the early keyboard device (made illustrious by the Moody Blues) that produced its legal through key-activated tape recording loops of actual recordings of orchestras, choirs and early acoustic sounds. Though it placid drew from TD's trademark sequencer sound, Froese's solo recordings have a more conduct and personal quality, and oftentimes feature his taste for rock-style guitar put to work.

Even while Tangerine Dream was releasing career classics Phaedra and Rubycon during 1974-75, Froese began his solo career with the two records Turquoise and Epsilon in Malaysian Pale, quite similar in style to contemporary knead by Tangerine Dream. During the reside of the '70s, Froese released four more solo albums during TD's breaks, followed in 1983 by Pinnacles. By that pointedness, Froese was the unchallenged drawing card of Tangerine Dream and could spillage material which would have appeared as solo knead during the previous x. The 1995 Virgin compendium Beyond the Storm summed up his solo career.
