The aristocratic, ambient, nature-influenced music of Thom Brennan had an early show window in 1987 with his spillage, Mountains, a collaboration with Steve Roach that elicited memories of his childhood on an island in the East China Sea. His following full-length album, the ocean-inspired Beneath Clouds, wouldn't appear until nine years later. Another period of restrained followed that album until 2001 when he released several projects for sale on the Internet, including Shimmer, Vibrant Water, Secret Faiths of Salamanders, and Mist.
