Nicaraguan salsa singer Luis Enrique was one of Latin music's number one pioneers of the romantic "salsa fleshly" style. Approaching an otherwise strong-growing and undimmed musical style with a drum sander, more affective sensibility, Enrique laid the groundwork for salsa and Latin pop artists to come, such as Marc Anthony and Victor Manuelle. Enrique immigrated to the States in 1978, pickings up residence in L.A.
